LIFE SKILL WORKSHOP
INTRODUCTION
On 7th October 2022 Life skill development workshop was conducted as a part of our capacity building program in the second semester. Student -teacher Sumesh (Mathematics) and student -teacher Amrita (Social Science) were selected as the co-ordinators of the workshop. The main aim of the workshop was to give an understanding about the importance and need of life skill knowledge and it's implementation in oru life. Our beloved Hena teacher lead us with proper guidance and support for conducting the workshop effectively.
METHOD OF OPERATION
The workshop started on Oct 7th 2022 at 10.00am itself. There was an introductory session where Amritha, Sumesh and Hena miss talked about Life Skills.
The teacher trainees of Malayalam optional was the first to start their presentation. Their entire presentation was concerned with Stress Management skills. All of the 11 trainees among them gave us different activities which ultimately made us aware of the need of managing stress at different situations
Second chance was for the physical science optional student-teachers. We had selected decision making skill, each of us presented the activities like tik-tac-toe, situation tests, start-stop-continue and card marking and gave an outline about the skill and it's significance.
Next Mathematics optional student -teachers presented activities and games for the development of communication skill. They described about the methods and necessity for improving communication skill in our life
Later Natural Science optional students presented different thinking skill activities.They introduced different activities like picture completion test, story making etc for the improvement of creating thinking.
Finally Social Science optional student-teachers demonstrated about interpersonal relationships skill with several activities like bonding test.
Sumesh concluded the workshop by giving a speech about the importance of life skills in our life and vote of thanks given by Hena teacher
BENEFITS
It empower the students to take initiative and to contribute positive value to their society. It educates students on protecting themselves,mentally and physically. It also help children make the most out of life. It promote healthy habits and positive social relationships
CONCLUSION
Each and every one of us were able to understand more about the very fundamental need of keeping in mind about the importance of life skills in our daily lives. All those great and small activities given by each trainee made us think about developing many skills for the development of our wholesome personality. As teacher trainees, we were able to encounter direct experiences of developing life skills for personal as well as professional upliftment. Many a thanks to Hena miss who gave us opportunity to enrich us with the valuable experiences from the works
